Datatool S4 Red Recalled

The flagship alarm in the Datatool range, the renowned Datatool S4 Red is a Thatcham Category 1 approved alarm/immobiliser system designed specifically for Triumph Motorcycles. Scorpion Automotive have today announced that they are recalling all 11,382 of them due to a problem with the internal circuit board.

Over time corrosion of the internal circuit board can lead to unpredictable functionality of the alarm. This can cause the alarm to operate and in the most severe cases may even cause the motorcycle not to start or to immobilise the motorcycle during use. If your alarm is close to experiencing some of these symptoms, The rider may be forewarned of the issue by the alarm LED glowing slightly with the ignition on. The LED should not illuminate at all when ignition is on.

Scorpion Automotive Ltd have agreed to recall all of the affected units and replace them with a new quality assured unit. Affected units were manufactured between 25/03/2013 and 18/12/2015.
