2.1k Bikes recalled in a BMW nine-T recall

BMW Nine-T Recall

Over 2,000 bikes are being recalled from UK roads by BMW.  All models of the R NineT range are affected.  The concern is that the screws fixing the rear wheel swinging arm may come loose from the frame.

If the swing arm comes loose from the frame, there is a high chance that the rider will lose control of the motorcycle, posing an accident hazard.  Although BMW claim that there have so far been no reported accidents, they are recalling the bikes, and will fix the problem free of charge.

The DVSA are yet to announce the details of this recall.  Once that happen’s we’ll follow up with exact numbers of bikes involved, affected VINS, and the reference which this recall is being tracked under.
