The European commission have issued a ‘Rapid Alert’ regarding the BMW G310 R categorising it as a ‘Serious Risk’.

They are warning of there being a risk that the handlebar clamp may be incorrectly bolted. This could lead to twisting of the handlebars, resulting in an accident.

BMW have agreed to initiate a recall of the affected units. So far affected units have been identified in Germany, Poland, Sweden, The Netherlands. It seems likely that the UK will soon follow suit, and a recall is likely to soon be announced here too.

Affected units were manufactured between 15 December 2016 and 1 April 2017.

If you are concerned that you may be affected but have not yet recieved any notification from BMW, you are advised to contact your local BMW Motorrad Dealer.
