American Motorcycle Brand Harley Davidson has issued a recall notice via the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency).  This particular recall affects 188 registered motorcycles in the UK.

The recall affects Touring, Softail and CVO models built between 17/07/2015 and 31/03/2016.

The details filed state that “The Hydraulic clutch master cylinder may fail to disengage engine on initial gear engagement, leading to the machine lurching forward and falling over. This condition gives an elevated risk of injury to the rider and bystanders.”

Harley have agreed to recall the machines that are likely to be affected to inspect and clean the brake master cylinder piston. Where necessary the master cylinder piston will be replaced.

The following VIN range is affected: 011685 to 958707

The DVSA will contact all affected riders, if you are concerned that you may be affected, but have not been contacted, we advise you to contact your local Harley Dealership.  Harley Davidson are tracking this recall notice under reference: 0169
