Renthall have have just announced an urgent and immediate recall of Renthall Clip-ons.

Testing which they have developed since the introduction of these parts indicates that the material they are made from is susceptible to Stress Corrosion Cracking.

If this defect were to occur while riding, the handlebar clamps could become loose on the fork leg causing the rider to lose control and crash.

The recall affects both the Gen 1 and Gen 2 styles, covering part numbers CL100, CL101, CL102, CL103, CL104, CL105, CL106, CL107, CL108 and CL109.  Affected models have been in circulation for a while now, being available in retailers across the world from 2009 to July 2017.

Renthall have asked that all Gen 1 and Gen 2 clip-ons be removed from use immediately, and a free replacement set will be provided.  Due to the nature of this recall, and the length of time the goods have been in circulation, proof of purchase is not necessary to obtain your replacement set.

Gen 3 clip-ons are already made from upgraded material and are not included in this recall.
