Rossi Breaks Leg

Following an enduro training accident on Thursday, August 31st, Movistar Yamaha MotoGP star Valentino Rossi was diagnosed with displaced fractures of the tibia and fibula of his right leg.

The 38-year-old Italian rider is at hospital in Urbino, in the west of Italy, he will undergo surgery as soon as possible.

Rossi will definitely miss next weekends Misano GP and almost certainly won’t be able to participate in the Aragon GP on the 24th of September.

It’s likely that he won’t be able to rejoin the race until the Japanese GP at Motegi. Albeit, even that would be ambitious. When he broke his leg back in 2010 he was out for 40 days. The Motegi GP is just 46 days away.

A further medical bulletin will be issued later on Friday morning, Sept 1st.
